I made a background which I really liked for one of my short story comics, so I decided to spruce the picture up a little, replace one of the figures, and submit it as a deviation. That’s why the composition is a bit odd: it works fine for a comic panel, but it’s a trifle funny for a full-blown picture.
It certainly took me long enough to make it. Five hours for the background alone, I swear. Like… from 11pm until 4am. It'd probably have been less if my computer wasn't bent on committing suicide, but ah well. You just have to live with these things.
Um, no XD I just kind of made it up as I went along: experiemented here and there, looked at other people's stuff, used a shameful amount of Undo, that kind of thing. I'm sure there are tutorials, but mostly I didn't use them.

Beautiful. The shading and detailing on the outfits is awesome, and I love love love the view through the window, and the shape of the girl's hand and the way her hair drapes and falls.... This is great!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
